Episode 1
Golden Parachute
A plane, all smoked up dips into the water as two people who are fishing nearby see the action happening in front of them.
Eric Delko and Horatio come in to look for any surviving people and after some discussion with NTSB they manage to locate the pilot but Delko, even though tries his best, is unable to save the pilot’s life.
Calleigh Duquesne briefs Horatio on all available info about the flight, as Eric Delko investigates the money and body parts moving in the water. Megan and Tim join in too while Horatio tells Megan that he is sorry for taking up her position in the unit, while welcoming her back.
While putting up the pieces of body parts together, Alexx suspects a hole was caused by the bullet and conveys this to Horatio, who further asks Calleigh Duquesne to search for the bullet.
Tim is all ears to what the man, who was fishing, has to say to the detective questioning him. Then he informs to Megan about the poaching rifle the man had, so Eric Delko goes for it as Tim writes points down.
Eric and Tim are in midst of an argument, and Horatio is in a discussion with Megan, when Horatio observes an empty briefcase and a unspoiled seat belt in the wreckage and Eric Delko spots a survivor.
Horatio suddenly notices the fact, as the paramedics team is taking the man away, that the man was not wearing his seat belt, while Megan has news about another dead woman in the water.
Alexx ponders over the fact that how the body could have reached such distance away from the crash site. She then claims that the dead woman was wearing very expensive clothing, but did not wear any seatbelt at the time of crash. Horatio notes some strange looking marks on the hand of the woman.
Calleigh Duquesne is still looking for the bullet but locates a very fishy looking damage on the door of the plane instead. Horatio converses with the dead woman’s mother as Tim later tells him what kind of activity was going on amongst the passengers in the plane. Calleigh comes up with an explanation for the large distance of the dead body from the planes site; the door of the plane was open during the flight.
After thorough questioning of the technician of the plane, Horatio learns that the door of the plane did not open up by itself and the lone survivor when asked, opinionated that the dead woman might have committed suicide.
The argument between Tim and Eric still ensuing, Megan and Horatio try recreating the whole scene of crime and conclude that the woman was shoved out of the plane.
The man who spotted the plane crash had stolen the black box of the plane as comes out of investigation of Tim and Eric. They listen up the box and hear about the crash, a woman shouting for help but they don’t find any sound related to a gunshot.
The team, then splits up their duties, as Calleigh searches for the bullet, Eric Delco tries to reason out as to why the plan crashed and Tim check out on the dead woman’s background.
Tim is certain that the woman did not kill herself while Eric gets hold of a shoe of a woman which is very expensive and is in the engine of the plane, while Calleigh is sure that a nail had caused damage to the pilot and not a bullet.
The team recreates the crime scene but cannot pull up the theory that the woman was murdered by the survivor. Horatio then recalls those queer marks on the hand of the woman and concludes that they were from the fire extinguisher with which the survivor hit the woman’s hands to loosen up the grip she had on the door of the plane.
They go up to capture the man, but he already has committed suicide in his room.
In the end, Horatio hands over to the mother of the dead woman, a very disturbing letter the victim had written about the man and the rest from the plane crash.
