Frank Tripp- Portrayed by Rex Linn

Frank’s Character- Frank is a Detective in the homicide division of Miami-Dade Police Department and later joins Horatio Caine in his team of CSI at crime scenes and serves warrants for the team. He has sound knowledge of Forensic procedures more than the Captain Jim Brass of CSI. In his personal life, he was married to Melissa. She was alcoholic so both separated. Besides this she was suspecting him of cheating upon her so she hired a detective whose job was to allure men to cheat upon wives and then contact their wives as clients. Unfortunately the undercover officer hired for Frank is murdered and Frank becomes the prime accused. Eric keeps his name hidden as his finger prints were found on key card of the deceased. Later on he is found innocent leaving him hurt with the incident.

Birth Place- Ochiltree Country, Texas.

Personal Life- Rex got acting fever since his childhood. In 1969 his family relocated to Oklahoma, he did a part time job in Oklahoma City Zoo. He was discouraged in his high school for becoming an actor after he almost demolished the set while acting in a school play. Later on in 1980, he got degree in radio/TV/Film.

Career- After completing studies he took over banking career and continued until 1982. After this he worked in many commercials and finally started earning small roles. Then he got opportunity to work in his first film Dark Before Dawn. Later in 1989, he got some worthy roles in Night Game and Young Riders. He had to sell his house and all possessions for his acting career. Therefore he shifted to Los Angeles to have a better career. There he did construction jobs, but his search for roles continued and eventually he got a role in theatrical movie My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys in 1991. He also got guest roles in many series. In April 1992, he got a real break in a hit movie Cliffhanger. Since then he has worked in 35 movies. Recently he has appeared in CSI-Miami as Frank Tripp. His movie Smokejumpers is in post production.
